Which type of packing will work the best?

I'm looking for felt packing for the F-20. I found this website but there're many options. I was thinking number 1, 5, or 9. I'm think they would all do the job, but is there one that might be better somehow?

I had to make some felt packing for my old Ford truck, I bought the sheet of 1/4 inch thick felt from them and cut out what I needed with scissors.
I guess it would depend on exactly what size you need, I needed them 1/2 inch wide, by the 1/4 inch.
The quality of the felt is top notch.

90% of the areas on an F-20 that have felt can be replaced with a lip seal. just get your 2 diameters and head to your local bearing dealer

Have you used lip seals? Could I put two or three back to back where the felt used to be for optimal protection?

Only 1 lip seal is necessary, just make sure the shaft is clean and smooth.

And if you want to see what the real thing looks like. NOS Part number 15220DB PTO shaft packing, (yeah, I'd say it's 1/4 in)
