fuel delivery issue

I'm back again with the old B414

Can you give me some guidance.

the fuel pressure regulator that was in line I have removed - thought it was not needed but it is. the regulator now will not work. without the regulator the carb is overwhelmed with fuel and leaks everywhere. I bought a modern day car ( for fuel inj) regultor and it will not regulate low enough. the regulator that came off looks like a rgulator for propane ( nice and small) . do you think that wil work? if not, any sugggestions?

Also, would you know the setting for the load and idle screws for the carb ( zenith VN) ?

Getting frustated

Thank

There is a fuel pump on the tractor from the factory. there is no regulator. The on line parts catalog has images, if yours is the same, I suspect the needle and seat in the carb is not controlling the flow as it should. My guess is that the pump delivers less than 5psi of fuel pressure (probably more like 3). Jim
