Farmall 460 axle housing

Just drug this thing in. Noticed, that one axle has this hump in it. Why? And what was it used for? Is it worth saving, as I"m junking this tractor out. Thanks...

Always thought it was for some extra clearance for the fast hitch with traction control yoke. When the level adjustment screw was turned all in. Think it was probably done for 350 utility tractors and they just made the same housing for 350 utility and farmalls with a 2.5 axle. No indentation was used on the 2-3/4 axle housings for late farmall 300 up through 460 with a fast hitch.
