CHANGED HDY FILTER BLEED SYSTEM KNOW NO POWER STEERING EVERY THING WORKS FINE TIRED CRACKING LINE HAVE FLUID MOVED WHEEL STILL NO POWER LOADER PTO AND 3 PT WORK GREAT PLEASE HELP DONE SCATCHING HEAD THANX

Hi Dave,
your description would appear to be the flow divider in the MCV is stuck at the bottom but the only thing that is puzzling is the PTO should not work as well.
If the 784 has a remote hydraulic outlets, deadhead the remote until your hear the relief valve buzzing, that sometimes frees up a stuck flow divider valve.
The things is to get the air out of the PS turn the steering wheel from max right to max left several times. Also pull the remote lever while turning the steering wheel to see if the PS works.
If PS works then flow divider is stuck.

Below is from archives, 784 and 454 have same hydraulics:

Hi Joe, on the 454, the hydraulic pump feeds the steering in priority, then the remote, 3pt hitch, PTO and brake. The flow-divider valve give 3 GPM to the steering and 9 GPM to the hitch system. When the valve is stuck in the bottom, you have no steering and no PTO and if it is stuck in top, you have no hitch, no remote. Remove the plug and the spring, put a container under the hole, start the engine and pull the remote lever.
The flow-divider valve goes out in the container. Sand the valve with a 400 sand-paper and try again. Change the filter if it's old. Maybe you have dirt in the oil, check in the filter housing when you open it. When the filter is full of dirt, it has a by-pass valve that opens and allow the oil to go directly to the pump via a screen. In this case, dirt can go into the system and cause your problem. Hope this help you.
