Does a 1066 have enough hydraulics to run a 900 4 row. I can get a deal on one but it doesnt have the pto pump, Id have to run it with tractor hydraulics. Thanks

I have run an 800 planter with a 1466 for 10 plus years through the tractor hydraulics. You need to shut the fan off to raise it on the ends, but other than that it works fine. I plummed the return hose into the drain plug on the transmission with a right angle fitting. Will run a strong 8oz of pressure at about 1800, if you need more pressure for heavier corn, just rev up your motor.

If you have small fields with much lifting the planter I think you will really hate it. A pump can be worth up to about $500 but I've gotten them as low as $100. If you have the fan off long enough to lose air pressure, all the seed falls back to the bottom of the drum so your going to go a little ways until the holes in the drum re fill. I was going to run one on a tractor that is rated at 18 GPM and I got 14 GPM when I tested it on a flow rater and it would not lift and run the blower at the same time well, went to PTO and it's much nicer.
