Paint Fade.

Have a Farmall F 12 lawn ornament painted up last winter and going to wax the sheet metal which there is not much of but is there any real good spray on wax for the cast parts everybody knows how red holds up to the sun.

Didja ever think of spraying over the color coat with a coat of automotive clear, with the hardener associated with it? You might ask an auto body shop if they could spray it for you.
It works for automobiles, etc,. ought to work on yer stuff, too. (This from a retired auto painter!)

If you decide to clear coat (as Rustyj proposes) don't wax it. Best of luck, is it reasonable to make it run? Jim

If you wax cast you will remove more of the paint due to rather poor coverage of the "peaks" in the cast. If you put clear on it, it needs to be sanded first to make the clear adhere which will also remove paint. In other words it either needs to be repainted correctly or left alone. Red doesn't fade if you use quality paint, but you probably don't want to spend much money on a lawn ornament. Perhaps you can wax the sheet metal and leave the cast alone.

It would not be a lot of work I don't think but the motor is stuck, and I really don't want to crank start a tractor anymore but I did seal everything up as good as possible to keep water out dumped oil down the the spark plug holes the only bad part is I put extra oil in the oil pan but when sand blasting the pan is thin and oil came out so had to remove it.

Two quarts of polyurethane with hardener mixed in should shine it up and keep the shine for quite a few years. It will give it the wet look. Been there done that...

I did a search a while ago for waxes and auto finish products with ultraviolet inhibitors.

Was surprised I couldn't find many (or maybe they all have them, but don't promote it)

But I did find one company out there with a was type product that was made specifically to block UV - and therefore paint fade.

Problem is I don't have the info any longer. But you might want to search it yourself.

I never tried the stuff - so can't make any recommendations.
