Hey guys what is the best thing you've found to get varnish out of a farmall h style tank? Open to all ideas thanks.

I had let mine set for 15 years with some gas. It turned solid. I took it to a friendhas an engine-rebuilder business, he has some sort of hot tank he "boils" things clean. He "boiled" it clean. Sorry I don"t know exactly what it is, but it worked.

I have never had much luck with anything I tried. I have taken them to a radiator shop, had them clean and line the tank with plastic--then no more problems!

in my ol f20 that sat for 20 yr,s I used a gal of lacquer paint thiner. left it in for 4-5 days and it worked good. Bob

MEK or Acetone. Not sure you can get MEK anymore.

Yes, you can still get MEK. We use it at work. We buy it from the local Sherman Williams store.
