the timing inside the mag has jumped 2 times.Everything seams to be tight.I don"t understand how it can move.It will start and run fine for a while[for several times}and all at once it will not fire.I remove the cap and the pointer is between the points for spark plugs
Any help or comments welcome Thanks Al

al47, The drive gear from the govoner is keyed. If that key is broken the mag will slip on shaft.

You say it's done it twice. How did you fix it? That should tell you what's wrong.

What mag do you have? Is there a carbon button with a spring behind it missing? Just the rotor jumping time should be easy to figure out.

The first time it happened it was repaired at shop.I don't know what was done. It is messed up now. The broken keyway makes sense. I'll check it out. thanks Al
