Radiator Cap painted?

Should this radiator cap for a Farmall H be painted red? Silver? Not at all?

They were red from the factory, but lot's of people like a contrasting color.

Is that a radiator cap? or a water tank cap off a International cotton picker?

Up to you, I would prefer silver. The pressurized ones were galvanized, I believe. At least the one on my dad's H was not painted.

Early H with non-pressurized system has the cap stamped "water", and it is round with no handle. Pics in Guy Fays book, "Farmall letter series tractors", show them painted.

beautiful thing is that it is YOUR tractor. Do what YOU want to do. If your question is "what did the factory do"? Paint it red.
