'52 SC generator question

Took the generator off and delivered to a local old-time shop to have a look at it.

Person said he did not think it was the correct generator for that particular tractor.

From what he could tell - it is a Delco 1100501.

Also said the end plate was worn out - he could make another one but said it might be easier to find a good one. Any suggestions?

Thanks ahead.

The end plate just needs a new bushing. If it is worn through the bushing and into the plate, chances are the armature is bad too from wearing against the field poles.

That sounds like a good number but unfortunately, the online parts manual does not give the old Delco numbers. It might be for a tractor with high low charge or one with a regulator. I am not sure which one is which but they are different due to field current amp draw.

Dont know why he said that as that is the correct # for that tractor and it uses a regulator mounted under the gen. He mite have looked up C as the early ones used a different gen with the third bruch adjustable and a cut-out mounted on top of the gen.

That was the other thing.

Guy wanted the regulator as well - and he said it looked like someone had done a little field work on it and it is basically toast.

I think Steiner has one for $33 - quality might be $3...
