bouhgt this tractor at bales auction in huron sd use once to move snow thought the tranny was jamed beteen 1st and reverse.did what form said and took shifter out every thing in line. so i put it in what is reverse and still went forward. did i get took? is this a major or some thing i can fix ?

135 is the shift pattern
A broken shift fork could do what you are experiencing. the worst case is probably having to pull the trans top off to fix it.
Removing the belt pulley drive, (or the plate if not equipped) will allow you to see inside as to what is happening. Let us know. Jim

Does it move in any other gear?
If it binds up in 2-3-4-5, then you've got a broken shifter fork. It's not a big deal but the deck lid has to come off the transmission.
You didn't "get took." You bought a tractor at an auction as-is, where-is, no warranties expressed or implied. You pays your money, and you takes your chances.
People don't take equipment to sales like that if it's in perfect working order, and unless you have X-ray vision there's no way to know what's wrong until you take the tractor home and try to use it.
The trick to auctions is to pay only the money you'd be willing to wad up and set on fire.
