i got the super a out the barn today and went to cultivate the asparagus for 10mins and when i went to park it i heared the raditor boiling been doing it for a while has plenty of water and antifrezze in it. what is wrong is the water pump bad?
thanks!

The later Super A's have pressurized systems, I have one SA and 2 C's with pressurized radiators, what they don't have is water pumps. I imagine the gurgling she hears is normal, vs actual boiling. A water pump was optional, was not standard until the Super A1 and Super C appeared.

Your block has some of the holes plugged. Those holes are the size of a nickle down at the bottom of the sleeve and probably somewhat plugged up you can remove the radiator and the lower housing and with air and pressure wate get them opened up l Or now that its summer drain the cooland and fill with some vinegar run that for a while then drain and backflush with pressure water. Ive replaced lots of sleeves and sort of standaard to find those holes plugged or almost plugged.

My A does that after mowing for a while. Not a rolling boil, but a few rumbles and then a few seconds without. Runs like a champ and hasn't been hot. I've seen lots of engines run that hot when worked hard. Difference is that those were pressure systems so it wasn't boiling.

Run it.

You've probably just never noticed it before but I bet its been doing it right along.

Most Super As do not have a water pump. If it does it will be on the lower left front of the engine not at the fan like a traditional design.

The rumbling noise is ferfectly normal and is the thermosiphon cooling system at work. As long as its not blowing clouds of steam and overheating it's fine.
