The original subject was "John T. or anyone H causing TV interference".

Please, someone, we really need your help here! We have the same problem with a neighbor's tractor interfering with our digital tv. Every night he comes home and drags the garden directly across the street from us, and we lose our tv. He doesn't just do this once a day, but does it, goes in, we assume to eat dinner, then comes back out and does it again! My husband has spoken to him about it interfering with our tv so he knows, but apparently doesn't care. HELP!! We moved our tv antennae once already, but no help.

Are you already using a directional antenna pointed directly at the station"s transmitter? -- if not, if you are using an omnidirectional antenna, that"s one thing you can try to null out the interference.

Otherwise, if the source of the interference is higher level than the signal you"re trying to receive, and coming from the same direction, there"s not much you can do.

Buy a resistor that goes in the coil wire. Add the rest of a coil wire onto the resistor and take it over to him. Nicely ask him if he would try this by replacing his regular coil to dist cap wire and see if it helps. He most likely will not notice any difference in the way his tractor runs. Worth a try. We used to install them all the time when guys put radio"s on tractors. Usually came with the radio.

Okay, Im much more "smart" at AC Power Distribution and Tractor DC then I am at RF or Electronics, but here goes....

Ifffff he had carbon core suppressor type plug wires and resistor plugs it sure would help your problem and if he doesnt have a Magneto Ignition it wouldnt hurt him that much and thats not all that expensive.......

As far as filters etc etc you can use at the TV I dont think they work that well but those TV and RF dudes know more abouy that then yours truly

Its not his problem its yours you must have some bad wires somewhere cheap coax or bad leadin from antenna that allows interference coming in.

Wire wound Magnetic supression wires will work with either mag or points and condenser. The purchase of them might be shared, or you (as it may be only your issue). Jim

Here we have another example of the high voltage making a magnetic field and radio waves around the wires. And we are falsely tought that the field comes from the amps & not volts.

The digital TV signal is more sensitive to electrical interference. My old paper shredder would break up my TV picture and if my neighbor is mowing his yard it will do the same thing.

Sooner or later he will plant the garden and it will stop until next spring. Probably more sooner than later.

The man likely depends on this garden to supplement his income and/or feed himself. Asking him to go to great lengths and expense because you're mildly inconvenienced for a few hours every spring seems awfully petty.
