Second pick looks like the date code, only my very limited knowledge was unaware that a Mount-Day-year format was used, but I guess it was prior to the Mount-day-letter code format.

If you could find any more numbers cast into the block or head, maybe we could use the CNH online parts books/part book search to help ID. Also, somewhere on the block, I"d expect you should find some numbers stamped in for the block SN, which we might be able to use info on the Wisconsin Historical society"s website to help.
 
Have not found any other numbers,need to do some more cleaning.Everyone says it has to be a P-300 but all P-300,s I have seen are a lot different.Will try and post pic of other side.Also talked to Laura at wisconsin historical society yesterday and sent her some pics.
