706 farmall lp

Hey ya'll thanks for the help last summer when trying to decide whether to buy the 1000.00 706 lp ,glad i did ,its overkill. Now i sold my deere and have decided just to fix up one tractor.I had both front ends for the deere.Does anyone know if the narrow front off a 3020 deere will fit on my wfe 706? I kept it in case it would fit ,it is complete to the tires. What size were the factory front wheels on the wfe. 15 or 16?What kind of suitcase weights would have been used on the706 in 1963? More ? To come.

No.The the JD front end will NOT fit the IH. A '7' would come with either 7.50x15 or a 6.00/6.50x16 front tire.IH used either a 75lb or a 100lb suitcase wt.The 100 being the most common.

Cute Daughter. Can't say the same about the green thing. LOL Why don't you show a pic of the 706LP? THanks Kent

Don't mean to hi-jack the post but it's funny i was just sittin here fixin to post a question about a 706 LP tractor with a front blade. I'm going to look at one. I beleive it is a 706 it's a wide front. I know it has a LP line leaking but not sure about any other problems.I know this isn't much information but I don't want to go in blind. What would one be worth and what should I look for? Thanks.

One thing I would look for is whether the Ensign regulator/vaporizor works, that is, if the engine runs normally. I have an Ensign that came on my 450 and had to use an aftermarket Reg/vap unit for the time being, there is a guy in Oklahoma that sells kits for them, but other than that, parts are very scarce for the Ensign units. Also, it wouldn't be a bad idea to get you a spray bottle and mix up some water with a little detergent to check for leaking valves on the tank, they are still available but can be annoying when you are ready to fill the tank but can't because of leakage. I think your original questions have been answered, but I just wanted to let you know if you ever decide you want to get rid of the 706LP, give me a holler. I am highly interested and down here in western Ky. And I too, would be like to see a picture(s) of the tractor.
