Early Super M vs. jd 4rw 7000 planter

Guys,

I was wondering how well my super m would pull a jd 4 row wide 7000 series planter. I do not have live hyd and didn"t know if the belly pump would be able to lift planter. Also 50% of my ground is decent size hills not so much steep just long. The drawbar is also a factory drawbar on the super and wasn"t quite sure how it would handle it or if it would last.

Thanks
Zac

It will pull it just fine. If the hydraulic pump is wore out then there could very well be an issue with lifting. If the planter has just the one cylinder at the center it is possible to replace the cylinder with one with a wider piston to enhance the lifting power.

I have a Super M with the live hydraulics and a JD 1240. It's probably a little lighter of a planter but my 2 1/2 cylinder raises that fine. If your pump isn't beat to heck it should lift it pretty easily.

It should have no issue, just make sure your hydraulics will lift the marker arms. They have a small diameter cylinder.

My H with liftall would not lift them.

My SH pulled one just fine.

A Sm will handle 6r just fine.BTW,those 'marker shovels'(furrowers) make a planter pull like a plow....

Are you doing this for a living or just a hobby? If you are planting corn what is your yield? It looks like a 3 acre field. Waht is your goal?
