What size disc can a M pull?

IT DEPENDS,,,,Soil type,,,,,,,Soil Moisture,,,,,Depth of cut,,,,,,Weight of Disc,,,,,,,Slippage (Duals or Singles)

That being said in the soil type (heavy clay NOT sand) I had in Southern Indiana without Duals an 8 ft Wheel Disc was about all I liked to use on an M or similar. However when it was dry and I ran duals an M could do a decent job with a 10 ft disc IN MY SOIL AND MOISTURE AND DEPTH

Nuff said

PS theres a HUGE difference in can it pull it (heck a 12 ft lol) versus pull it well (maybe an 8 ft) AGAIN SUBJECT TO SOIL TYPE AND DEPTH AND WEIGHT

(quoted from post at 17:41:34 04/23/13) Will an M be able to pull a 8ft or 10ft transport disc?

I pulled a 24 foot disk with my M. In 4th gear too. It pulled real easy raised up and running on the rubber transport tires.

That post is worthless without pictures.

I have actually pulled a 13' RWA John Deere with my MD. It could pull it, but it lugged hard. On the upside the disc was only $100 and my WD-9 will make it a toy.

Well excuse me for not having a pic of my M pulling a 24' disk. I will try to do better the next time I post . LOL

Back in the '50s we pulled a 9' Kewanee disc with a SM. Usually ran in 3rd gear. The old Kewanees were notorious for pulling hard. IIRC, the gang bearings had wood inserts. In the early we '60s we bought a 450 & a 13' IH #37 disc. A couple times when the 450 was in the shop we pulled the 37 with the SM. It didn't didn't seem to pull any harder than the old Kewanee. The 37 had ball bearings which let it pull easier.
