I"ve looked at 1955 300 w/TA in an estate. It"s been inside for years with a stuck valve for sure. Aparently it was started to be worked on as hood is off and power steering partially disconected. I couldn"t see the tires because it was nearly coveer up with lumber. What should I offer?? Thanks --WOK

If the seller is serious about selling have him uncover it and drag it out in the sunlight Take a battery and gas with you.

There is a reason that it is covered up with wood. It must have been more fo a project than the owner knew how to handle. Not enough money or know how. $500 tops if the tires are good.

If the tires are good (as in something you could sell) its a $600 -$700 tractor in scrap and tires (you could easily get $300 for decent tires and rims). The fact that it wouldn't run years and years ago makes it less likely it will run now (even inside those engines freeze up).

It might only take some work and a few parts to get it running again, but it could just as easily be nothing but scrap metal.

I bought one thinking it would be a good investment was I wrong! No one really wants one you will never get your money back. It is about as worthless as a boat on dry land. I would trade mine for a good H!

They are an awkward tractor. When you get on it almost feels like you are trapped on it. I totally agree. I would take an H over a 300 any time.

Man the 300 U is getting abused in this discussion. I'm not a professional farmer but I have a 300 u and I like it. Some parts are kinda scarce, weakest point is the steering.
