Pulling Bull pinions on a 400, Super M, or 450.

The thread below on the 400 disk brake issues has conflicting information.

One person says you can pull the bull pinion with a slide hammer.

Someone else says you will wreck something if you try.

I know you can't pull the bull pinion from the outside on a BAND BRAKE tractor without wrecking something, but I thought you could pull the bull pinions on a disk brake tractor.

On my 300 the pinions come right out. I have had the out more
times than I care to think about while trying to get the rear end to
be quiet. The bull pinion carrier still cannot be removed without
the bull gear being moved first.

Any tractor of that vintage that has FACTORY style disc brakes, you can pull bull pinion out without removing the differential support housing. Very last H and M had factory disk brakes. The parts book adds to the confusion as they picture the bull pinion on differential side of the diff support housing.
