It seems that all of a sudden my 986 is making engine oil. It there anyway that hydraulic oil could get into the engine. Don't seem to be diesel fuel in the oil. Can't smell in anyway.

Its diesel fuel. The pump seal has failed and is letting fuel into the crankcase. There is no way hydralic oil can get to the engine....Unless someone pours hydro oil into it. LOL

My 886 was just doin this also, its the injector pump. My tractor only has 4600 hrs on it and when i got my pump back for the shop i had a $2000 bill and a different pump. Apparently my pump was not rebuildable, will not be using that shop again

I have also seen a couple engine pump fuel into crankcase when a rocker arm bent, and also when an injection nozzle stuck open. Of course those engines didn't run well and customer didn't notice except lack of power as they were on combines so he didn't hear the exhaust. Reason I bring this up is both combines came into shop for pump repair until I heard them run while they drove them in to shop.

Talked to repair shop and they said around 1000 dollars whither they rebuild mine or get one off the shelf.
