Question is whether the oil line that runs from front to rear of head under valve cover and over the rocker arm assembly on a farmall m is necessary to be there? Not sure what purpose it serves or can it just be removed? If removed, do you plug the ports, or just let them open? Thanks for your answers. Rob

Front port in the head connects to the tube going to the top of the governor housing. Rear port in head has pipe connected to it going to the intake pipe on the air cleaner. If you look close the line over the valves has a small hole in it. Supposed to draw air or some of the crankcase mixture of stuff out.
Some pullers plug the rear head port and run them without the pipe.
Another way is to put a 2 inch long 1/4 inch pipe nipple in the front head hole under the cover. Then get a 400 or 450 valve cover and run a PCV hose from the opening in top of it to the air cleaner pipe. If running a regular air cleaner?
