IH 650. and other wheatland's, drive shaft

I pulled the engine from my 650 and learned there is an intermediate shaft that goes from clutch to a coupler in front of the transmission. When I opened up the coupler I found a very short section of splined shaft. The problem is that one of the teeth is missing from the shaft inside this coupler. All the other components appear to be in good shape. I went to my parts tractor and found the exact same condition. My tractor will end up being for show only so should I be worried about installing it with one tooth missing? Thanks.

Did you find the guy looking for a W-9 gas tank on RPM? I had to laugh when I saw that.
 

I see WOpp has already offered you one, but I will chime in with a bit of help too.

I took one out of my Super WD-9 that had 3 cogs cracked and years ago my neighbour broke all of the cogs off of his WD-9 snow plow tractor and he thought that the hard push of plow caused it to break the cogs--he is probably right.

I think you would be okay with your show tractor with the shaft you have but if you are like me, you will probably want to fix it right.

A clutch shaft out of a W-9 or WD-9 might also fit but I am not sure. The part numbers are slightly different between those and a 650:
W-9/WD-9 is 58610DA
600/650 is 58610DB
The last digit is the only difference in part numbers which might mean that there was some minor improvement made to the original part (Ford auto parts work that way--I am not sure about IHC). Regardless, a W-9/WD-9 clutch shaft would be easier to find and might be in better shape since they weren't subjected to as much horsepower.
