Can someone tell me how many, if any F-30s came out with starters? How hard would it be to put on one a 30?

Ive had 2 30s, and loved them both, And, would like to have another, But, at 65, I know my time at starting them is running short. So, I was wondering if they were hard to find, OR IF a starter could be made to be put on one.

There were after market starter kits for F20's. I don't know about the F30. There has been various ideas shared on this forum before.

no-one made a starter setup for F-30's in 'bulk'.

there was a machine shop in Indiana that made SOME but im not sure if they make them anymore. they were similar to the heisler style for an F-20 however the starter was above the framerail not below it.

Ive seen only one of these setups and talked to the gentleman who had it done on his F-30

the simplest setup I have seen was a ringgear welded onto the belt pulley with a bracket on the framerail that the starter bolted to. I have a picture of it somewhere.....It wasn't too hideous and could be replicated reasonable easy by someone with a little McGuyver in them.

There was a man from south west Indiana at an IHC show in Hastings, MN several years ago who had 3 F-30 engines mounted side by side on a single F-30 main frame. One engine had a starter and the other two were connected via roller chain at the rear of the engines for the power . He started the engine with the starter, then engaged the roller chain drive via the engines regular clutches, to start the other two engines. A real monster with wide front.

that sounds like the late Harry Lee's tractor. He had a lot of unique tractors. He was having the starter setups made that Ryan was talking about. I don't know if there are any of those left or if they will be making any more.

Odon Machine (812)-636-7781) made the F-30 starter kits for Harry Lee who was from Elnora IN. This morning the son of the owner of Odon Machine stated that they could still make the kits. Hope this helps.
