Curious two books I have give different starting serial numbers for a 1952 farmall m what is the correct begininng serial number

According to the book in front of me now(published by our friends here at YT).The first '52 M is sn#290923.There were 6794 Ms built in '52.Atotal of 297717 Ms were built from '39-'52.I have a 'Jensales ' sn book and a 1974 dealers guide that I will check later....Steve

Regular farmall M tractors other than diesel started calendar year 1-1-1952 with serial # 290923.
Regular farmall MD at serial # 285211. Other variations used different serial number starts.
IH also used a fiscal year from November first to November first. Most serial number lists are for calendar year though.
