Pictures and M&W hydraulic pump for Super H

Hi,

Can someone please post a picture of a M&W pump for a Super H that bolted onto the distributor? It allowed for live hydraulics on the Super H. Does anyone know if pumps off other Farmalls would be the same? Lastly, does anyone know the specifications of this pump in regards to GPM, PSI, and RPM? Is this a high pressure-low volume pump or a low pressure-high volume pump.

Thank you.

12 GPM at 1,000 PSI, around 1650 RPM.

The IH pump fits the Super H with no modifications necessary, and you can use your stock distributor.

Is there a specific reason you want the M&W setup?

The IH is certainly more expensive than a used M&W should be, but you can get one RIGHT NOW. If you need it for spring planting, that may be a consideration.

It's not like you can snap your fingers and make whatever obscure accessory appear out of thin air... Though, if you can, we need to talk...

Of course if you're building an M&W tractor, or you want one because your Dad's/Grandfather's/Uncle's tractor had one... Best of luck to you.

I thought the pump was made by M&W? Is the pump labeled 1PX an OEM pump? Does anyone have the part number so that I can see if the dealer can order me one?

The M&W ones would go on all tractors, but the IH ones were only supposed to go on the SH. IIRC that is because they had a beefier timing gear cover and a differernt timing gear.

You are talking about a live hyd pump. They were made by both M&W and IH at that point in time.

Thanks for the reply.

I am looking for one that will bolt up to my Allis Chalmers B and give it live hydraulics. It was my grandfathers tractor, I grew up driving it and would like to use it as much as possible. I need a pump to drive the apron on a IH manure spreader that I just picked up. Below is my current set up, so I would need pump 1PX, right? Does anyone have a part number?

From what I have heard, the 1PX style pump pictured above will. I've called a few salvage yards, but they need to know the part number to make sure they provide me with the correct pump.

Can anyone confirm that 1PX will bolt up to an AC B?

1PX will bolt on any standard magneto drive flange. drive dog and 2 bolts. Magneto drive shaft turns the same direction as the engine on a H, SH. You need the distributor drive part with the 1PX pump. M&W sold that pump for several tractors equipped with a standard SAE magneto drive flange including some AC tractors. Don't know if a B was one or not.

(quoted from post at 08:03:04 04/17/13) Are you sure an IH pump will bolt up to your Allis?

He is asking about the M&W pump.

The thing about this is, he's asked this question in two IH forums and specified "SUPER H" as the tractor... Now all of a sudden it's an Allis.

Sorry, I got all mixed up. Either way...if the M&W pump for an IH would fit his Allis B the IH pump would fit his Allis B.

I was told that the pump off a H would fit the AC, no other pump would work. However, subsequent google searches have indicated that the pump on the Super H would also work.

In this case my brevity and poor word choice was not beneficial. The original post should have read "used on" a H or Super H, not "for". I also had no idea that at least three separate pumps were offered for the H models, hence the not mentioning the AC, as it would not have been relevant.

As to posting on two forums, one should always use multiple sources when doing research.

No, a IH or M&W pump for a H, SH, 300 or 350 that mounts to the engine front cover or plate with a drive gear on the pump shaft won't work on the AC. M&W 1PX pump mounts to the ignition drive housing like used on a H or SH without a pump mounted to the front cover plate. 1PX bolts to the ignition drive of several tractors.
On the B if the distributor and right angle drive is removed at the 2 bolt mounting flange( I think the B has a standard ignition drive flange) a 1PX pump and M&W type distributor drive used with that pump would bolt in its place if the housing clears everything. I have no idea if the B drive parts to the ignition unit is strong enough to handle the hydraulic load. Also don't know if the B rotation is the same.

Sorry, I missed that the 1PX mounts to the ignition drive.

Yeah, the IH pump won't work on the Allis.

It mounts directly to the front cover of the engine, not the ignition drive like the M&W. The IH pump REPLACES the ignition drive, in fact.

You could mount an M&W pump to an IH pump and have yourself a real conglomeration, though. Probably tear the cam shaft out if you tried to use it, but it would look cool.
