farmall 460 price

found a farmall 460, been sitting for about 3-4 years, the sheetmetal is nearly perfect,nice widefront,fasthich with the swinging drawbar,nice fenders,pulled it out of the shed to try and pop start it and the motor didnt want to turn but it did turn about 1/2 turn, gas was running out the carb and blackish gas coming from exhaust, what happend?. pulled the dipstick and its VERY thin BLACK oil and smells like gas. any ideas?

Float/needle valve in carb stuck open and filled every thing up with gas...Easy fix.

well you kinda went about it backwards.
first was to check the oil then pull the plugs out and squirt some oil in the cyl"s. an engine sitting that long gets condesation in the cyl"s and some rust on the walls.thats why it did not want to turn.pretty hard to slide a dry piston in dry rust. another possibility is it could have hydraulic"d in a cyl., always best to take the time and service the engine before starting or turning it. saves damage in the long run.
