H and 300 wheel bearing swap?

I have to replace the bearings on one front wheel on my 300 with NF, the wheel is very loose and I am sure whatever bearings are in there are ruined. I should have caught it sooner. I have several H NF assemblies and am thinking of taking the bearings from one of them and am wondering if anyone knows if they are the same. I tried to use the messicks parts diagrams but I couldn't get in, it kept saying 'model not found'. Any advice will be much appreciated.

Zack.looked at messicks and it was dfferent part #s.punch in farmall 350 and it will show your 300 tractor. hope this helps. i allways enjoy your posts.im hobby farming with the same stuff you are. mn skinner

I beg to differ but if I remember correctly (and my memory is not always correct), I think front wheel bearings and seals on the H, Super H, 300 and 350 are interchangeable. I believe some of the bearing part numbers in the parts book have been superceded.
Good luck,
Ben

There should be a part number on the bolster, and there should be part numbers on the wheel hubs. If those numbers on your 300 jive with the part numbers on the donor tractor, then the bearings themselves should interchange.

Thank you all. I will try it out and post the results. I am sure that the casting part numbers are different since by the time the 300 came out they were using the R1, R2 etc suffixes instead of the DA, DB,DC etc.

I do believe they are the same. I've been running 300 utility hubs on the front of my H for the past 10 years. Interchanged bearing back and forth as needed.

Call your IH dealer & give him the number stamped on your wheel hub.
There were two different part numbers of wheel hubs used on both tractors.
If the number on the H wheel hub matches the one on the 300 you are good to go.
The wheel hub number will dictate which wheel bearings or kit you use.
