I have a 1938 f20 and the clutch is jumpy. Though it was the clutch, but took inspection cover off and found pressure plate fingers out of adjustment. Cant get the back casting off due to a heisler overdrive in the way to adjust fingers. Also cant adjust through cover. Any suggestions or advice would greatly help on how to remove.

Sorry..... but the major inconvenience of the Heisler Overdrive is clutch removal. It actually saved my F30 from being dismantled. It was parked by my uncle because the clutch went out, He didn't want to deal with it. Then bought by a neighbor who wanted the overdrive. He tried to take the Heisler off without moving the engine and gave up. 20 years later I got it back with everything loose but still in place.

You need to remove the radiator, unbolt the engine and slide it forward as far as you can and then fix your clutch. If she's all painted up and you don't want to scratch up your rails, pull the engine. Do not lose any of the shims under the engine mounts as they are there to line up the shafts to reduce wear on the coupler. I would put in a clutch, pressure plate, and throw out bearing so you don't have to do it again anytime soon.
