More B414 Questions

I'm still working on this and it seems I keep running into things I don't know. The hydraulic pump has 2 sections like my 364 with power steering but this does not have power steering. There is a plug in the back section. Also right behind the front outlet someone had screwed a 3/8 bolt in and then cut the head off. I took the bolt out and put a set screw in. Is this okay? I haven't started it yet so I want to be sure I don't damage anything.

A guess... The hydraulic pump was changed at some point, with the wrong one being installed. One of the gears in the steering section must have been removed, the outlet port cannot simply be blocked off. The tandem pump was fed with the same suction line as the non P/S pump.

I was thinking that you can't just plug an outlet off but maybe you are right. Hard telling what has been done over the years. Another thing, this tractor was painted yellow right from the factory. Did they make a B414 industrial? It has the original serial # plate on it so I know it is a B414.

Another guess... If the B414 is a model genuinely intended for the U.S., not like my 434 which is here accidentally... then yes, it would be an industrial version. At least, it could have been ordered yellow by a municipality.

Fritz is right it should have a single pump. I replied to your post the other day about your hyd filter. You never replied to tell me how you got on or thanked me for my bit of infomation. MJ

Sorry about that. I have been wrapped up in other problems. I found a new one for about $60 so if I can't find a good used one I may try to solder a new screen in my old one.
