What would it cost to replace or repair a slightly slipping TA in a 1206.I know of an ex IH mechanic that charges about 50% and is really good and would do it.I know everyone says they are out or going out and tractor wont be used for farming much, possibly plow day and fun of the feeling about yesterday when I had a new one in 1965[almost 50 years ago].Thanks! It has stood the test of time better than me.It still looks new.

The only proper repair is a new T/A. There is no fixing a slightly slipping one unless the linkage isn't quit right. Find a service manual and follow the directions for adjustment to a T. I believe the clutch needs to be adjusted first, again to factory specs. As far as cost a new T/A is in the $1200 range and i'm not sure on labor. You should probably consider a clutch too while your already in there. Just my opinion.

I put a Hy Capacity TA in my 766 last summer. The TA was close to 1200 and my installer charged me 250 to put it in my tractor. My tractor is an open station. Cabed tractors take more labour to split the tractor. hope this helps. Kent
