I have an International 385, the clutch slips when in 3rd and 4th high. have maintained free travel of 1" to 1 1/4". Tractor has 2851 hrs, been used mostly for brush hog pasture. Is this normal life of clutch or am I missing something?Assume no other adjustment other than free travel? Thanks for any advice.

Your tractor will have the 11inch laycock (dana) clutch fitted, dependent on use the hours may be about right !!

Does your tractor have a TA , is so isit main clutch slippage or slippage in the TA unit??

Do you have a service manual??

You are due for a clutch...it becomes evident first in H4 and H3..if you let it go eventually you won't have any motion.

If the tractor didn't have a loader and the clutch wasn't slipped much, you might be ok with just a new clutch disk, but if you've got it split, pressure plate and surfacing the fly wheel isn't a bad idea.....a warped flywheel will just ruin the new clutch (if the tractor even slides back together)
