im looking for a better cam for my m for pulling.
i want a new 450 cam for it but am having trouble finding one and new lifters! i have a stiener products book but they only show one cam that says its for a M,super M and super MTA and it has the left hand threads... what im also wondering if this is the same grind as the 450 cam? any advice would be helpful on where i could get a 450 cam!
thank you!

Farmall 450 engines with engine serial number 9861 and higher came with a 48196DB or 45955DB cam with left hand threads and a X after DB for the nut included. Like Eddie said that cam became the replacement for that family of engines.
Replacement cams that say for 48196DBX should be like the cam you want if they are machined correct. This site sells one for M through 450 as a replacement for 48196DBX.

the reproduction cams, all have left hand threads, and is the 450 profile. they pep a M up. they have em for sale on this site! get ya that, and a reproduction 450 LP head, your old M will run alot stronger! LP heads on this site too!

yeah i put one of the reproduction LP heads on my M last year with the Lp manifold and still has the stock cam...so hopefully the cam will do it better!
thanks for all of the wonderful help guys!
