I have a Behlen power steering unit on a Farmall 400. This is an add on unit as the tractor did not have power steering from the factory. It has the separate tank and pump; the pump is hooked to the back of the live power hydraulic pump. If we try to keep the two systems independent hydraulic fluid flows out of the cap on the behlen reservoir when using the hydraulics. I really don't see how the two systems can be connected. We ended up putting a hose from the top of the behlen reservoir to the main hydraulic reservoir then it works. Anyone have any ideas as to why this is?
