Welding not chiped

Just stood looking at my 1945 H with a HM236 mid mounted hoe. Noticed the welding on one of the lift arms to the Liftall ram has not had the slag chiped off. This tractor is still got its original paint on it in most places including the weld. It has been like that for 68 years so it can stay a bit longer. MJ

I was a welder in a welding shop back in my college days before wire welders. We were using "drag" (E6015) rods to make "stringers". Because of the push for production, we did not chip anything. It does not surprise me that IH did the same thing.
