Farmall 460 diesel sediment bowl assembly?

I"m working on a Farmall 460 diesel that is in desperate need of a sediment bowl assembly. The one on the tractor is quite large (about 3" around and 4" deep), but the soft metal head is very badly warped. Does anyone have any words of wisdom for straightening it or a source for a good replacement? I"ve tried my usual source for new parts and it appears this one is no longer available. Thanks, Sam

If it's like the one on a 560 diesel, parts may still be available from CIH. I bought a screen and gasket for one from them a year or so ago. I think at the time the bail was NLA, but a complete replacement assembly was still available.

Some parts should be available for this strainer/water trap from ST---EINER TRAC---TOR PAR---TS (remove dashes).

Take it off the tractor and find a piece of pipe the same diameter as the glass bowl. Set the body on the pipe and hammer it back straight. Use as thin a gasket as possible, so the pull of the bail it more evenly distributed around the body. A thick gasket will allow the body to bend again, as the gasket settles onto the glass from the pull of the bail. If you know someone with a lathe, it would be a good idea to take a very light cut on the gasket surface after you straighten it.

I have put a few of them in the press with various supports rigged up to reform them. Some times not successful, some times worked out good. Seems to me I put one in a 560 new a couple years ago with parts from CASEIH dealer, unless I got that one straight, can't remember for darn sure.

Thanks to all so far. My search had included both of those places.
CaseIH no longer services any part of the assembly (although I
didn't inquire about the gasket), and the other has bails and bowls
but no top pieces. So it looks like straightening is my option of
choice. Sam

I ran into this exact problem just a month ago. I couldn"t find a new one with the large bowl. I found a new sediment bowl for an IH gasser and it work just fine. The bowl is way smaller, but it threaded into the tank and the fuel line screwed right in just fine. The only compromise I can come up with is that one may need to empty the bowl more often, but with clean fuel, how often is that really?
