will the final drive on a 1948 farmall cub work on a 1965 farmall cub low boy I wood like to make the lowboy a high crop

As Gene indicates, just rotate the existing finals to the down position. It will have a serious down hill rake unless conventional cub front spindles are used, and or larger diameter wheels and tires. Jim

Loboy final drives can not be just turned down, the brake rod slots will not be right. If you don't believe me check the parts book. Finals from a regular cub will work fine.

The lowboy is worth more than the cub. Just sell the lowboy and buy a regular cub. Save yourself the work and expense of the conversion. You will have to buy regular cub final drives and change out all the bearings and gears to do the conversion. Also, seat, front axle and other parts are different. Lots more regular cubs around than lowboys. You should have no problem selling your lowboy and then finding a cub to buy.

(quoted from post at 13:52:22 03/24/13) So why cant you grind a passage for the brake rods to clear.
Brake rod slot is just part of the problem. The dowels will be in the wrong place. The attaching bolts are not in symmetrical positions. Oil filler/level holes are in the wrong place. Probably other problems I'm not even thinking of right now.

Best answer is to sell it and buy a Farmall. Even if one sold low and bought high it would probably still take less out of pocket than buying everyhting it takes to convert one.
