Farmall Cub steering shaft removal

Can the steering shaft on a cub just unthread like the H's and M's do? Motor has to come out for a rebuild. I've never worked on a cub, but it doesn't look too hard.

Bruce, I unbolt the steering post and leave the shaft with the frot axle. Put wood blocks under radiator cast to support on front axle. Unbolt front engine mount bolts and radiator hose and suport the tranny bellhousing and than wheel the front unit away from the engine as one piece.
Makes it easy to pull the engine rite out.

Just remove the frond end assy with radiator and all. I do the same on the A and Bs. What you dont take apart you dont need to put back together.

The steering shaft comes right out with a little finesse. Three bolts and "lefty loosey."

Mine needed a new seal anyway so when I split the tractor I took the steering shaft out so it was out of my way.
