What to offer for these....

So I have an opportunity to offer on these two machines. One is an H, and the other is an F20 (I think). both "ran a few years ago when parked", but are towers now.

Any thoughts on what I should offer for them? I know it depends on a lot of things, but lets assume they are freed up and restorable.

I *KNOW* the bottom tractor is either an F12 or an F14. F20's did not have adjustable tread rear wheels.

I'm pretty sure the top tractor is an M. The steering shaft runs almost horizontal from the hood to the steering wheel. On an H it runs upward at a much steeper angle.

Prices are the same regardless. Scrap price for both. The only good tires there are the rears on the F12...

ok, the top is probably an M. I haven't seen them in person, just via these pictures. And the bottom is an F-12?

Look at the serial # tags.
The top one is an M
Bottom one is an F14
Scrape iron prices for both, figuered on aboot $200.00 a ton.
The M weights around 5 thousand pounds, give or take a little.
F14 weights aboot 4500 lbs. more or less.

I think that they might both be better than you might think... I don't really know why.

Top one doesn't seem like it's been sitting in that location very long. looks like mud on the top of the rear tire

bottom one has a new hose and clamp... I think that looks a bit odd for a tractor that has been sitting for a long time.

I wouldn't want either one of em though... but I'm a knothead.

(quoted from post at 04:26:54 03/23/13) Bottom tractor is a F14 - angle of the steering wheel makes it different from a F12.

that doesnt mean its an F-14.

ive junked out LOTS of F-12's that have had the steering changed on them, doesnt make them a 14

Biggest clue without looking at the serial tag is a 14 has a crankcase breather on the valve cover on the magneto side

I agree with Janicholson on the value. I think they are worth more than scrap price, certainly as parts machines and likely to restore if they are not in too bad shape up close.

Joe, Both of those tractors have been moved to where they sit now you can see mud or ground marks on tires, don't no if they run. F-14 steel wheel you can see the rust spot where it sat for some time. I would say farmall M and F-14 has a plow wheel behind not sure can't see. Bar mower looks like it is sitting to the side not mounted. If not running $600 on the M and $400 on The F-14 if it has the correct bar mower and plow add $200. oldiron29

You correct. They did offer an upgrade package for f12 to make it an F14. I don't know what you call the tractor if that happens. Is it a F12 or an F14?I thin they reserved some serial numbers for that.

$1500 is way too much. You would be better off to spend $1500 on a known good M than that junker. It may not have sat right in that spot very long, but they sat in the last spot for a long time. There is a reason the rear tires of both tractors are 1' deep in the mud. That doesn't happen if they just sat there for a few months. I'm guessing they drug them to those locations from their last ones.
