Got my recovered seat back from Darrel

Just got my recovered pan in the mail, I"m mounting it to a Knoedler flow-ting seat base which just got a few repairs. I"m putting together a pipe seat from spare parts, might try to come up with a design for a second parade seat.
Questions:

On the pipe seat, what is the bracket that I"m pointing to used for? Original or did someone make it?

Where is the plow ring typically mounted? On my aftermarket pan, it is actually attached to the back of the pan, wondering where I should put a ring on the farmall seat.

This material looks very durable, might outlast the blue jeans that are riding on it.

I got the impression from what I heard that the seats you buy on the internet might have a light weight canvas or maybe a cotton material. This stuff appears to be very durable, like it wouldn't fray and could be hosed off if dirty.

I have a black vinyl cover that I'll use when working it, taking it off for parades or if I drive it from the hunting property to the Tavern down the road.

We had the same bracket on both an H and M. We had trip plows years ago that would unlatch from the drawbar ring bracket. We (and a lot of others) used 3/8 rod with a hand hold on one end and a hokk on the other end. Once plow triped on a large rock you could back up to plow and reach down with your hook and get the plow drawbar and lift it up and place it back down on the ring. Back the plow back a little and get around the rock and keep going. If you had a rocky field it would wear you out getting on and off the tractor to hook up a plow, this way you never left the seat. Hooks were about 4" long

Yeah, I had him do mine several years ago, back when he first started doing it. It looks nice, but mine is just hard as a rock -- hardly any cushion whatsoever. I wasn"t around in 1947 to be able to say with certainty, but I can"t imagine that IH wouldn"t have gotten a lot of flack about them, if they were all that hard from the factory. Just sayin".
