I bought a IH 606 that has had a combine engine put in after the original c-221 broke a piston .The people who changed the engines never got it running, so I bought it. I disassembled the engine to rebuild and found it does"nt have sleeves in the cylinders. The bore is the same as the old c-221(3and9/16"s). Is this common to the combine engines or is this a truck engine? I"m going to overhaul this engine regardless, but was curious about the lack of sleeves. Thank you for any insight. |

| It is a farm equipment engine and IH never used sleeves in the gasoline engines on combines. Early, older combines used truck engine, BD220, BD264 etc and they were also sleeveless. Then they started using the farm div engines but did not sleeve them. |
