Help!!!!

Got a 140 runs good but low oil pressure when hot. Now trying to remove oil pump after removing two bolts it is stuck in engine casting sprayed pentrating oil to soak for a day still a no go. Tap and tried to twist lightly.
Please share any ideas how I might get it free.
Any one had success removing the bottom plate and resurfacing it with the pump still in place. My only concern is if I do it this way, how will I know I have adequate gear clearance since I won't be able to turn pump by hand.
Thanks for all your help.

Pump WILL come out if you get rough enough. On the other hand, it doesn't HAVE to come out just to resurface the cover. You can then check gear-cover clearance with Plastiguage.

They get gummed up and won't pull out. I made a plate to fit on the 4 bolts , and pulled it down with a few strokes with a slide hammer...
Email me if you want a picture......

You can resurface the plate without removing the pump its supposed to be flat therefore the clearence will be just fine the gasket is paper thin.

Yes, I had the same problem on a C and Jim N. told me how to fix it. Resurface, reinforce, check with Plastigage. The old gasket was partially blown out.

The end clearance should be .0005 to .001" To measure it installed the I would put a 3/4" piece of plastigauge between the (flattened) end plate, and the gears. Remove the plate and measure the plastigauge with its wrapper. The gaskets are very thin oiled paper. CaseIH has them. Jim
