Opinion on a price for a B

Coworker asked me if $700 dollars for a B was a good price. He said that the tires were good and it has good sheet metal except that grill is bent. He wants to buy it and resell it for more money. The current owner has been using it and it runs really good.
I told him to buy it and then thought that if he can not make a sizable profit, he might be upset with me.
Your thoughts please

That's not a bad price, but he might not make as much as he is hoping at that price. Kinda depends on the buyer he finds.

This is how I felt also. I am going to tell him today that he may not get the quick resale he may be looking for.
Thank you

Does he plan to put some "sweat equity" into it?

If he's just going to buy it and stick a FOR SALE sign on it, he'll be lucky to get $700 out of it, and ultimately will lose money on the deal. He has to factor in travel costs.

The tractor market has gone to He** like the rest of the economy,it still is worth $700.00 in my opinion for his use,but good luck on making anything on it.

I have seen really good sound tracotrs sell for less than the same tractor that was wore out and the only difference was the paint.

To fix up one of these old Farmalls is a labor of love. Do not expect to make any money. It can cost in the thousands to fix the paint and stop the oil leaks.

Depends - B are getting hard to find. I'll bet he could turn it around in no time and make $400 without putting much into it.
