| I have no experience with a 620 but we have a 6200, just a little newer version of a 620. They work well for small grains, and i've planted small cover crop seeds and been satisfied too. The front double wheels can fall off if you don't keep the bolts tight where they attach to the swivel (neighbor ran over his wheels with his drill, i've heard of others too but we have never had a problem). I do not think that our 6200 is built as well as our old IH 100. The seed cup levers are thinner, the plastic idler sprockets will break if the chains are too tight, the seeding rate lever is a not as heavy as the one on the 100, and I am not happy with the acre counter. Also, the rockshaft assembly should have some bushings in it on the outer ends instead of just fitting loosely in the stamped frame rails- the rockshaft will deflect over time. Do not let any of this scare you- I think it is still a pretty good drill. But they were a little light for the amount of seed they can carry. They do a good job though. Make sure the opener discs make a V and not a W, which indicates excessive wear and disc replacement in the near future. Hope this helps, LonM |
