| | I guess I should qualify that. It depends on what they consider a rebuild. If they ground the valves, honed the cylinders and reringed the old pistons its a few hundred dollars of work - with the engine delivered to them. If they did a complete rebuild with new bearings throughout, pistons, valves, oil pump and they could have $1200 in it.

I agree. If it was a complete rebuild they likely bored the cylinders oversize, also.
