Anybody know what this part is?? The thing looks sorta like a buttonhead grease fitting, but no "flange" on the end. It is about an inch long in total length with appr the bottom third having 1/4" pipe threads; the remainder appr 1/2" diameter, cylindral shape with a spring-loaded ball the size of a BB at the top end. Came from an old IH dealership. Would sure like to know what it is and what it goes to!

pic didnt show up but it sounds like a fitting that screws into a grease gun head and is used for bulk filling from a grease pump on a drum. its about an inch long isnt it.

I think Handyman is right. Years ago before everything was throwaway that is how we refilled our grease guns. The cartridges are nice but you pay for convenience.
