Hi All: I have a huge (Mission creep) here.
I have an 1969 IH 444 Gasser that I bought a few months ago and am now working on, It needs new wiring the PO had it done up with house wire and wire nuts (*&%%$#*) Anyway while I have it in the barn I decided I would look at my stiff clutch.
Wow did I find a mess. The free play was zero on the clutch pedal and the throw out bearing is trashed, and the fingers on the clutch itself are worn through to the point of being almost gone.

This is what I found when I opened the access panel.

Here is another view.

So I am wondering are the Clutch Fingers available as replacement parts? or will I have to buy a new clutch assembly to get this fixed??

I am very unhappy that I am going to have take the time to split the tractor now.
I really don't have time for this right now. but I wanted to use this tractor for haying this year.
Any help is appreciated.

Have you checked the throw out bearing to see if it is frozen ?Looks like you might be able to replace the arms on the clutch without splitting the tractor, but if the throwout bearing is bad you will need to split it.

Hi Phil: The throw out bearing is trashed, it will have to be replaced. I am hoping to be able to replace the clutch arms, IF I can find somebody with the parts.

Ha!! That looks almost as bad as my 2424 a few post's back
I just took everything to the local brake & clutch shop today, including the flywheel.
They will be able to get everything aftermarket except the ring gear which I ordered.
I did check on the "ears" for mine and they were available from CaseIH.

I wouldn't risk having to pull the whole thing apart again if the clutch and/or pressure plate turn out to be bad.

Even though it's an added expense I'd put a new clutch and pressure plate in since you've already got it apart.

Thanks for the info Randy: I will have to give my local IH/Case dealer a try again.
But he is really small and dosent have much in the way of stock parts.Maybe he can order them without taking me to the bank over it.
