270 a backhoe question

We have a 270 a backhoe on the farm. The hoe part leaks bad and we dont use it. Can we take the hoe off and just plug the lines or does the fluid have to circulate through the hoe to lubricate the trans. It looks like you could take the hoe of and there are ears there for three point hitch. It works great cleaning out the freesall barn and we could use the old girl. Thanks for reading

On my IH2500 I removed the hoe had to connect the two big lines together no big deal. You will find that the tractor will be to light in the back if you have front counter weights make brackets to install in back or wheel weights.
