806 engine into 656

If it was gas for gas, no trouble at all. You just take the parts you need to mount the engine off the 656 gas engine and put them on the 806 gas engine.

However, gas for diesel, you will need all the parts to mount the engine off a 656 gas. Front plate, rear plate, and frame rails.

Why would you want to replace a fuel sipping diesel engine with a 3 ring gas gussling 806 engine?! also have you considered the fact that you could be overpowering the 656 rear end? A better fit in my opinion would be the German Diesel from a late 706. Armand

I'd imagine that he's got a wore out diesel engine, a good gas engine, not much money, and doesn't use the tractor enough that the fuel cost would be a big deal...

German diesel would be WORSE to fit than a gasser.

At least they put that gas block in a 656. C263 block is the same as the C301 externally.

IH NEVER put a German diesel in a 656, but there were a ton of 656 gassers.

AFAIK only late 686 and hydro 86 tractors used the German diesel. Good luck finding one of those for parts.
