I pulled the governor off my Super C this weekend and have some questions. The pinion has a pin sticking out of it with a spring inside of it. I understand what it is for, but how does it come apart? Mine has no movement in either end. The thrust bearing was junk, it is missing one of the balls. Has anyone every gotten one of these from someone else besides Case? They have them, but want $30.00 each. I also think I will take Gene's? advise and bore the throttle arm shaft out where it goes thru the case and put a bushing in it. It is really sloppy. The carb arm has a felt sealing ring on it. I am going to look for a regular seal to replace it. I have the felt seal, but the metal cap the holds it in is in bad shape. It is almost rusted in too. As always, thanks for the help.

That pin should be loose & just pull out. There is a spring behind it. Together it controls the end play (slop).

As to the felt seal, use it and get a new cap. The IH bearing can be crossed to SKF, etc by any good bearing dealer. However $30 for a bearing is not bad.

If the "cage" is good on your thrust bearing you can get new bearing balls at your local bearing shop (Eastern Bearing Co. here in Vt.). I did and it only cost me around $5.00

The pin on the very end that runs againist the inside of the case will not move at all. I am going to put some PB in the little oil hole for the spring to see if I can get it loose. Thanks for the help.
