Got my 1586 out -- we"re going to go thru it before spring. Its going to be a second tractor this year - but still see some hours. Antifreeze was a little low. I was going to set valves and noticed a bit of antifreeze in the oil by the rocker arms. However I cannot find anything in the bottom end of the engine. I have good oil pressure and dipstick is actually below full. The last time I used this tractor it had its hands full with a chisel -- so I"d think if there was antifreeze in the oil I"d have cooked the bearings. Possible injector sleve leaking or oil cooler - When I had my 7000 lose o-rings it dumped into the oil pretty quick and if you pulled the stick itd be over full. It does have alot of blowby. Any help would be appreciated.

An injector sleeve will either leak to outside or leak in and burn the antifreeze up. Leaking cooler will put oil into radiator. There are several small expansion plugs in the top of the head that I would check first. Also, I have seen many of those engines burn up a lot of anti freeze in the oil pan and still not hurt the bearings. Replaced them anyway of course . It will really smoke out of breather from anti freeze in pan.
